Spend a day or make it home for the summer. The park is comprised of a 170-site campground and extensive day use areas on 200 acres of mature forest on the sandy shores of Big Water Lake.
The timber is representative of the great Boreal Forest region ranging from majestic pure jackpine stands to trembling aspen and areas of mixed spruce, balsam and birch on upland sites to lowland sites of black spruce, cedar and tamarack.
As might be expected, wildlife viewing is good with most species of this forest such as bear and moose visiting from time to time. They augment the resident population of snowshoe hare, pilated woodpecker, ruffed grouse, fox, etc. The lake is active with beaver, loons, ducks, Canada geese and several fish species.
